Fort de France ferry

Fort de France ferry - fast and nice

Fort de France ferry is foranyone. If you're of an adventurous frame of mind, and have time to spare, you can revert to the mode of transportation that islanders used before the advent of air travel: Fort de France ferry and the traditional mailboats.

Although fast, modern, air-conditioned Fort de France ferry now make some of the trips, some of the more remote destinations are still served by slow, old-fashioned craft with few amenities. Within the $loc ferry, it has the most, and most comfortable, options for island-hopping, that offer food and beverages served by cabin attendants.

Fort de France ferry advices

As with most things in the Fort de France, schedules do change rather frequently; if you're planning to Fort de France ferry back to an island check and double-check the departure times, and build in extra time in case the weather's bad.

Fort de France ferry serve most of the major tourist destinations from Fort de France. The ferry costs around $110 one-way, and takes about two hours each way.

Usually, the shorter-haul ferry makes several round-trips daily, and keep a more punctual schedule than the longer-haul ferry.

Fort de France ferry - a good transportation choice

For those who can avoid the seasickness, ferries and high speed catamarans provide service to destinations both on Martinique and on the neighboring island of St. Lucia, Dominica, and Guadeloupe. For travelers who have flown into Lamentin International Airport and are trying to get to their resort location; or for those who have flown into a nearby island and wish to visit Martinique, ferries are an enjoyable way of taking in the sea breeze and blue waters of the Caribbean while getting to a destination on the island. The vedettes (ferries) that run locally on the island provide service to the popular Trois Illets, Pointe du Bout from quai d'Esnambuc, Fort-de-France. Operated by Somatour ferries, these ferries provide ferry services at frequent intervals from about 6:30 a.m. to 12:10 a.m. to Pointe du Bout and from 6:10 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. to Fort-de-France. Fares will go up to 6 euros. Vedettes Madinina (http://www.vedettesmadinina.com/) provides ferry service from Fort-de-France to Anse Mitan and Anse à l'Ane as well as Pointe du Bout. Ferry service runs at both 30 minute and 1 hour intervals throughout the day beginning at 6:20 a.m. from Fort-de-France and stops running in the late afternoon and early evening to the various locations. Boats generally carry around 100 passengers, and fares will again go up to around 6 euros. For vacationers looking to island hop to or from Martinique, ferry service also provides an good interisland transport alternative to air travel. Express des Iles offers a linked ferry service providing transport to Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, and St. Lucia. Brudey Ferries also offers Ferry Service between St. Lucia, Dominica, and Guadeloupe. Timetables are again subject to change, but fares will run from, 55 for one way fare to, 87 for a return ticket. Ferry service provides a relaxing alternative to taxis and planes for both on island and interisland transport while you are vacationing in Martinique. Enjoy the blue skies and blue waters while you travel to your destination.
